INVENTORS!

This Autumn Dominic Wilcox will be encouraging our Cultural Spring wards to return to their inventing roots. Did you know that self-raising flour, phone boxes and even the light bulb were all created by North East inventors? From October Dominic will be working with schools, community groups and the public across the Cultural Spring wards to inspire as many new Inventors! as possible.

A selection of these inventions and designs will then be chosen by Dominic and a panel of local makers, expert trades people and manufacturers to be made in to real life inventions that will feature in a special exhibition.

How to get involved with Inventors!
Schools:
Between 2 – 6 November Dominic will be visiting schools in our wards, armed with his own wacky inventions and the ideas and tools to inspire your very own classroom of inventors.

Half Term Workshops:

Bring your budding inventors along to one of our fun, half term drawing workshops and their ideas could be realised and feature in an exhibition alongside Dominic Wilcox’s work.

We’ll be at:

Miss Tina’s Coffee Shop, Southwick on Monday 26th October from 1pm – 3pm

Souter Lighthouse on Tuesday 27th October at 11am – 12.30pm & 1.30pm – 3pm

The FabLab, Sunderland on Wednesday 28th October 10am – 12pm & 1.30pm – 3.30pm

Roker Park Bowling Pavilion with Sunderland Live on Thursday 29th October from 2pm – 4pm.

Makers, artists, fabricators…
Help us realise our inventions, we’d love to hear from you if you’re a person and/or company with the means to make – we need everything from blacksmiths to bungee rope makers and everything in between. Please get in touch if you think you may be able to help by contacting Amy.Taylor@theculturalspring.org.uk
